This course is designed
to help:
" delegates to gain an in-depth understanding of,
and empathy for, the experience of dementia within a person
centred framework;
" staff to gain an awareness of different psychological
approaches to dementia care;
" staff to gain an understanding of how they can
influence the emotional and physical wellbeing of individuals
with dementia;
" staff to gain an opportunity to discuss and debate
their role in supporting the rights and enabling risk
taking for people with dementia and how this may or may
not conflict with their own personal and professional
boundaries.
